Navid Hassibi, Director and Senior Fellow

Navid Hassibi is a Co-Founding Director and Senior Fellow of the Council on International Policy (CIP). Prior to establishing the CIP, Hassibi was a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Security and Conflict Studies as well as a Non-Resident Fellow with the Nuclear Security Working Group; both of which are hosted by the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs. Hassibi has years of experience as an international affairs practitioner in the public sector. He has frequently provided analysis and insight on international security issues, particularly on Iran. His work has been published in the Guardian, the Huffington Post, The National Interest, the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists and with PBS Frontline, among other outlets. He is also the author of Deterrence in an Era of Iranian Nuclear Proliferation. He holds a BA (Hons.) in political science from the University of Toronto (Canada), an MA in international politics from the University of Manchester (UK) and a PhD in political science from the University of Antwerp (Belgium).
